the assignment on this job was to take the customers existing logo and revamp it(fyi: i did not create this original logo)

i was inspired in part by the new chevron logo and decided to try something along those lines. i also used a nice, bold san serif font for the main text, which i think really fits well with the design.

I think the graphic element of the logo you've done works better with their old text (cause they're both more delicate).

I think the text element you came up with works better with the flat version of the logo (cause they're both bolder).

I think my observations aren't helping a damn thing...

Smooth redesign. I don't like the gradient stuff, but I don't know how you could've done it better than that, so I guess it's okay.
