my swine flu piece and my response to your question does not contradict my libertarian piece.
according to the libertarian party platform [link] part 3 section 4:
3.4 Free Trade and Migration We support the removal of governmental impediments to free trade. Political freedom and escape from tyranny demand that individuals not be unreasonably constrained by government in the crossing of political boundaries. Economic freedom demands the unrestricted movement of human as well as financial capital across national borders. However, we support control over the entry into our country of foreign nationals who pose a threat to security, health or property. (emphasis added as it relates to your question regarding my swine flu piece.)
You´re right, a country has the right and the duty to protect his citizens. However, Mexico is under tons of crap, and the mexican goverment solutions is only allow the poorest people to go to another country and become the problem of this new country...
Besides, the illegal immigrants are not real mexicans, (i mean, the real term refers a civic notion not a racial status), they are just poor bastard complete used to depends on the gov helps (any gov). They have a incapability to work for their own country and they are going to be useless in "their" new country. I´m not americanphilic, but in this case, i support the americans than are against the illegal immigration.
Note: just ask to any "mexican" immigrant about mexican history... they know a shit about Mexico. The real mexicans stay in their country and work for it, immigrants are mostly just indians than borned on mexico, not mexicans
i don't mean any disrespect but you've missed the point of this particular piece. it's actually a commentary on the lack of enforcement of u.s. immigration laws and border security and how not even a deadly disease will make u.s. officials abide by the laws they have enacted.
