comic book cover i did for a guy named joe here on DA.
he runs a comic book company called star cross studio in milwaukee.
he liked one of my deviations (the one with the 3 guys with the gas masks on) and wanted to use them for a propaganda style cover...and this is what I came up with.
i'm not really sure when thing is to be printed...but i'll update it when i find out.
There are a few things that I've noticed that a lot of Fairey's work has in common. They're repetition of shapes, the use of is symmetry and a limited color palette, usually no more than 3 colors. When doing pieces like that I usually start in the center and work out. As I work out from the center I usually begin to build a frame around the outside of the piece, making sure to do the same thing on the left as I do on the right.
yea i see that there is only about three colors in his work.. [link] that is the style I'm trying to learn that he does.the one with the patterns in it.. i pretty much got this style down.. got any tips on the style of the link i posted
Awesome work. I love the colours used and the stark solid line work. It all works together very nicely. Quite inspiring to look at and gives me some possible direction ideas I could maybe try one day in my own work.
