one nation under surveillance by Satansgoalie one nation under surveillance by Satansgoalie
i got the idea for this after i saw a news story on local tv the other night.

recently a curious citizen noticed that a camera had been placed on a telephone pole near his house in his alley overnight. a few weeks later several others were discoverd in different alleys across town.

no one seemed to know who/why they were place there. that's when the news stations began to investigate.

it seems that our local law enforcement (non-elected, government officials) decided that the best way to combat crime was to secretly install video cameras in the alleyways of certain neighborhoods unbenounced to the public.

only after they were hounded by the local news media did they admit to it...

the reason? it was all in an effort to protect the public....well, of course

so, i just took the next logical step (in my mind) going from the local governments (police) spying on people to the federal government (homeland security) spying on people...which of course has been happening for years now.

want to know more?

All these posters are brilliant! May I have permission to use a few as art in my latest T2 fan mission? They would hang in the Nazi-like fortress of the Mechanists who are experimenting in biomechanics and politically dominating the virtual world. I have temporarily hung a few in the Indoctrination and Ideology classrooms pending your permission. They will be replaced with other art if you don't want me to use them.

You will receive full credit in the ReadMe file with a link to this site, and the fm will be released gratis (as always) to gamers online if you would like to check it out.

One of those cameras was mine, but after Suzie got the restraining order, I had to take it down. Besides, I have a new flame, so I needed the camera elsewhere.

The "surveillance" ... watching your neighbor, your friend, spying on someone, telling on people you knew to the authority, reminds me a great deal of the movie "In The Lives of Others".

The thing is who will monitor homeland security, who is watching who
if sometimes, such power go way out of line? Scary thought. :(

sup 1984? It wouldn't be hard to protest against this... I mean for starters, it's invasion of privacy. You could probably just call the cops and if they refuse to do anything about it, just throw rocks and stuff at them, after all, you didn't realize you were destroying government property ;) ;)

This reminds me so much of the "File sharing is communism" poster.

Funny and not a little bit scary. Being British, I already live in a surveillance society... it's worrying how easily these things slot into place with no one noticing...

Stylish and interesting.

In Norway, any place with a video camera has to be marked as such with signs, so people know when they are "watched". Our Data Inspectorate actually does quite a good job at protecting our privacy in such matters. :)
Your US seems like a scary place to be.

Like this like I like all yer stuff.

Yet I can't help but wonder... with all the cameras, all the taps, all the surveillance, I can't but think that there are simply not enough eyes not only to see every image captured, but even to process it all.

And privacy is saved because the data overload is so great it's like trying to drink from a fire hose instead of a garden hose.

This is really a powerful piece and I believe that it brings a vintage "now" feel to what's goin' on in our land as well as our world.

In my opinion this is a 8.5 star piece! Keep it up!

Great concept.

A mix of the usual propaganda, a political cartoon, and and Orwellain "thoughtcrime" reference.

Out of curiosity, is the news story on the station's website too?

Side note, I'm actually happy that you found the story to begin with....I was under the impression that not many others had the same view on everyone claiming that a new plan is "for your own good."
