I had the notion of some web whiz starting a site where we could post graphics for others (conserves in this case) to use for printing purposes or rallies, sites, flyers etc.

Soild. Gets the attention but the message..meh.

Toss out Tweedledee for Tweedledumber.

Nice thoughts about third parties but I look at it this way..You can't get two people in this country to agree what time it is so good luck on anyone agreeing on what third party should replace the status quo.

Now we are not a betting nation in terms of politics, we'll bet on a football game or any sport in a heart beat but when confronted with politics one things for sure..people will go with the evil they know rather then the evil they don't.

Now say by some cosmic chance a healthy portion of the hill were replaced by a third party..wouldn't change a thing. Oh on the surface things would seem to change but beneath it, in the back rooms and corridors the pawns would submit to the real powers of the hill- The Lobbyists!

So in the end..nothing would change, you can't change the game unless you take the board away and start from anew and honestly, we are far too comfortable to go rocking the boat with gun shots and shouts of Off With Their Heads.

Man...sorry for the rant.

Lemme put it this way..I'm glad I stopped voting long ago.

On Point. Definitely.

...And replace this corruption with other corruption. Yes. What a brilliant idea, just what we've been doing for decades.

What we need is a million-man march threatening to burn it to the ground.

i agree. but i think we should at least try to work within the framework of our constitution before we jump to the level of armed rebellion...then if that doesn't work (you're right. it hasn't worked for years) then we should move to the next level. but i think that sort of thing should be left as a last resort.

I've watched us all be betrayed by every single politician we've had in over the past 12 years. If the diplomatic process won't get us what we need, maybe threats will.

There just isn't anyone better waiting in line to replace who's there now. They're just another type of corruption who wants to get their time in the sun. The two-party system has failed.

you're right, the two-party system has failed. that's why i think it's time to seriously support third parties. we've been so brainwashed into thinking that it has to be one or the other. yet all we ever get is more of the same. you know, that is the definition of insanity.

however, i'm sure eventually any and all third parties would be co-opted by the big two in order to maintain their control and we'd be back to where we started...

maybe your solution is the really the inevitable one. i would just hate to see it come to that. i think that would tear this country apart beyond repair.

Not so much brainwashed really - what's happened is the money for campaigning is restricted to the two main parties. So they can hold the massive attention-grabbing rallies. And in the end what matters most is who recognizes your face more.
