Using data provided by the U.S. Census Bureau, the ACLU has determined that nearly 2/3 of the entire US population (197.4 million people) live within 100 miles of the US land and coastal borders.
The government is assuming extraordinary powers to stop and search individuals within this zone. This is not just about the border: This " Constitution-Free Zone" includes most of the nation's largest metropolitan areas.
We urge you to call on Congress to hold hearings on and pass legislation to end these egregious violations of Americans' civil rights.
It doesnt surprise me. I'm just glad that people are preparing for an overthrow, their arming up in guns and gold. I think they'll do it, too. And Ill be behind em.
I'm already on the no-fly list, for an incredibly liberal job position I used to hold. If I can't get on this no-border-crossing list, before the country breaks in two, I will have failed as a patriot.
As for Obama, he lied to us. He was the first president I wasn't cynical about (being born in late Bush Sr. times, I became politically aware around the time of Bush Jr. being elected). I feel cheated in a way I can hardly describe. I've never had to deal with a true betrayal in my life before this.
The poor are still getting poorer, the ghettos are expanding, the whites (outside of those like me) are flying, unemployment is reaching critical mass, our liberty has shriveled, our guns are being taken away, and everyone is trading a what little liberty they had to begin with for a little bit of security. It doesn't matter that the false prophet of change has duped us, that we were conned, taken advantage of, etc. Obama's lack of liberty-minded policy is just going to bring this country to the void more quickly.
I'm beginning to like the idea of a liberal bringing the country to civil war. It would be so ironic after all the hatred I threw at the Republican party.
Enough ranting. Wonderful poster, again. Will I see it on a t-shirt soon? Thanks for the blood-boiling links, as well.
IMO, this applies to places on certain University campuses, our homes at times (all contests of violations of search and seizure must be done in court, long after the damage has been done can't lawfully forcefully keep the officers out), sometimes when talking to the police (especially if you are ignorant of the law - though as a cop once I know some of the street lawyers are very ill informed and that hurts you), at the airport, inside a government building, if you live in certain states or cities and want to defend yourself, and many others.
Our liberty is under assault. It has been for quite some time. Republican and Democrats both are responsible. Only difference is which liberties they look to limit, and it seems we never get them back. I think our politicians have no concern for our rights and liberties, and think the Constitution is just pretty words don't care about the meaning or ideas. We're screwed I fear.
Something good though. Montana is currently looking to pass a lot of laws that actually limit government and empower the citizen. Seems many will pass. According to this state even red light cameras are a violation of Amendment 4, and looking to take case law and put it in statute.
But there's the problem with the pocket constitutions... a lot of that has to do with case law that isn't contained within. But, findlaw.com if you go to law for professionals has lots of good stuff about 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, and 14 and supreme court rulings based on them.

Sorry about the mini rant.
